Laura Zablit (2025-2026 Studio Apprentice)

Laura Zee (she/her) is a Lebanese-American theatre artist from San Diego, California. She innovates collaborative storytelling practices to reinforce pathways to community connection and joy, especially across cultures, international borders, and generations. She is best known as the creator of the interactive Word Up! program at The Old Globe, of which she directed, produced, and hosted 52 episodes between 2020 and 2023. She has also managed six Globe for All community tours, collaborating with visiting directors to make design, acting, and/or textual choices that best center distinct and diverse local audiences. Recent directing: 40th Plays by Young Writers Festival (Playwrights Project) and Powers New Voices Festival (The Old Globe). Recent performance: D.C., I Love You: Ready or Not (Folger Theatre), Diasporic Bodies and Colonial Architecture (International Theatre Institute, Rio de Janeiro), original drag king acts (Folger Theatre and The Old Globe). Education: B.F.A. in Theatre from Tisch School of the Arts and B.A. in Journalism from NYU College of Arts and Science.
